ADHD Help: Can't just sit and watch TV? |
Even when i am on meds, i simply cannot just watch tv. I have to be watching tv and playing a videogame or reading a book, or drawing, etc. It is extremely difficult and sometimes painful to just watch television and nothing else. I meditate sometimes which REALLY helps, but i would like to figure out how to focus my brain on one task only. Thanks. There has been many misconceptions. I have watched tv with and without my meds and i am unable to. It is not the meds that bring this about. Try different things you like to do make a list. and check the ones you like to like a list of hobbies examples: painting, sewing, writing, illustrating, being a firefighter volunteer at a hospital, dog trainer...what appeals to you and you are good at...you will do well keep trying! you need medication That sucks man...Maybe see a cykiatrist... dude that happens 2 me 2 O HAVE THE SAME PROMBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! walk infront of the TV thats wat i do!!!! I would suggest going to a docter myself. BUT the meds dont usually help and only make it worse. No coffee for you mister. american girl needs to read Yep. Even on medications, that's the life of the ADHD inflicted. Sorry dude. Maybe watch while doing something with your hands, like the rubics cube. ok, so i have the same problem, when i was first diagnosed they gave me too much medicine which basically made me sped up even more, and then when they lowered the dosage, i mellowed out and was able to focus, maybe something like that could be your problem. That's because TV sucks. If there was a decent show on, you'd be able to concentrate. meds ed big bong hit. you'll be lucky if you can watch tv why would you want to do that? you have a gift! try smoking some weed that will mellow you out. i did that to my friend. he is adhd. i made him smoke and that **** made hom calm as hell. Try and eat whilst you watch TV it will keep you concentrated because you can't do many things whilst eating.. um i have really bad adhd soo i like too sit and play solitair because when you have too think and sit still it makes it easyer too sit still and you r moving and stuff wile ur playing does ur dad smoke or mom because the smoke can like give youj a buzz and thats crazy i like too bounce my leg wile im writing papers i love too read soo keep that up its good for you and you should try taking aderall and prozac mabey even trazadon ask you'r doctor it may help It could be that your dosage for your meds does not match what your body needs. You should discuss this with your family doctor. Typically I find that I can't just watch t.v. but I believe it to be because I don't like most programs and can't stand the advertisements. It also took me awhile to get the right dosage for my ADHD meds and to be able to focus on one task. So talk to your doctor and tell him your concerns. He or she should be able to help. I hope that you get this resolved! Patience is all it takes sometimes. I would suggest going to a Doctor they might know a type of meds that won't make your "problem" worse. maybe it nothing you can foucus on tv i get like that to sometimes i cant be on the computer with out doing something |
