Why does every man, woman and child seem to think that they have ADHD?

When actually less than 10% of the population has this disorder? Is it because we live in such a fast paced world that everyone has a hard time focusing on one thing for very long and, and being organized is hard because things are so chaotic? or do ppl who think they have ADHD but do not, have another medical disorder altoughether?

They think that just because they cant pay attention or can't stay focused on one thing that they have this. i agree with you. mental disorders will rule the world

It's because everytime somebody is a little hyper or can't concentrate on something they decide that it is ADHD. Even psychologists diagnose ADHD a lot more than they should. In my psychology class one girl said that her mom who is a psychiatrist was working somewhere and this woman brought in her 2 month old baby who wouldn't sleep through the night. The doctors just said that she had ADHD and prescribed her the medication even though that's how some babies act normally.

I think your right we do live in a fast pace world and generation after generation we become more impatient I also think that it is a over perscribed dissorder and that most of the time (except in extreme circumstances) it is just an excuse weve become used to everything being so fast weve become more used to every thing being so instant

If it is somthing that you have dealt with your entire life and were diagnosed by a doctor, then you have it.
