Inatentive ADHD effects how you process information retain it and be able to respond effciantly right?

IF SO DOESNT ADERAL XR(RX i FORGET) HELP WITH THAT?

Yes that's absolutely true. Adderall is a good med for most people, but it is addictive. I wanted to try Adderall, but my doctor put me on Focalin 5 mg twice daily. Focalin is an amphetamine like Adderall, but the effects of it are milder, and its NOT addictive.

I hear about add diets all the time, but think it's a load of crap. You didn't get ADD or ADHD because you ate too many meals at McDonalds, you got it like everyone else - through genetics. You were going to get it regardless of what you ate. No diet in the world is going to cure your ADHD, but with meds where appropriate, you may be able to eventually completely overcome the dibilitating effects of ADHD.

Good luck to you!

I've had ADHD all my life and I never understood why I was different at learning and retaining the information. I'm 55 yrs old and when I went to college, I finally found out what was different about me. It's not the end of the world if you try meds for awhile. I've heard adderal is great for some people and helps them to concentrate. I don't take anything now but there are different meds to help the haywire of our minds. It doesn't have to be permanent, but, if I wanted to go back to school I would see my doctor for meds before I went. It made the difference like night and day. Hope you do well in school/or work.

Ashley, yeap its something like that. But whether the meds can help you with it is a difficult call because certain meds works on some but not for others. I suggest you discuss it with your doc.
