ADHD? adhd???

I think I have ADHD but I'm afraid to ask my 'rents to get tested. I have pretty average grades, ranging C's to A's and occasional, F's. I have a really hard time paying attention and people say I fidget too much, and I get in trouble for that and other things at school. I have troble with other things too, and people keep saying I talk A LOT (including my 'rents) so I'm really not sure. Please help!

I finally got on an Adult ADHD med at 34. As a student, I would get mostly A's and B's in school. I would also "fidget" a lot; whether it was tapping my hands, bouncing my legs, or twirling pens and pencils while sitting, etc. While studying or working I would also have to have several things going on at once such as listening to the radio, researching some random topic online, as well as working on my paper or whatever the main subject was that was supposed to be completed.

I found I had it after I took my 8 yr old in because of his temper and not seeming to pay attention at school. The doctor said it was hereditary. It was funny to see how every answer the doctor said was a "positive" for ADHD diagnosis in our son, was the same symptoms I had suffered through my entire life.

ADHD is not something to be embarrassed about. It is not a disease. It's truly amazing how much improvement in behavior that both myself and my son have shown since starting the medication. ADHD does need to be professionally diagnosed.

I keep thinking how much better I could have done in school, if I had been diagnosed earlier. However, now that I am essentially the boss at work, it would be an amazing struggle to stay focused on the major things without the medication.

Good luck and don't be afraid to talk to other people, such as your doctor, if your parents are not that open-minded enough to listen to you.

Hi, if you are not ready to talk to your parents or see a doctor, you may want to try non-meds methods on yourself by using adhd vitamins + adhd diets. Basically it involves eating nutritious food AND staying away from junk food. Studies have found that nutrient deficiency can cause all sorts of problems, including the ones you are having. You can get info on the mentioned vitamins and diet here:

Good luck.
