I think it's because your brains are in high gear all the time. (My son had this. It's the way we compared our brains. To a cars engine.) So, your thinking really fast all the time. He could be doing something, and me telling him something, like helping with school and reading to him, and I would think he wasn't paying attention and I'd make him tell me what I said and he'd always know! I am diagnosed ADHD, and have struggled on and off in my life with various issues. However, I am also a Phd student and have all but to finish my dissertation. I have also graduated summa *** laude for both my bachelor's and master's. For some reason, I can excel at school, despite feeling like my brain is a box full of marbles. That being said, ADHD has made a mess of other aspects of my life. you can be smart and just not pay attention. there's a such thing. :) |
