How do i help my sister with ADHD?

My sisters 12 yrs old but acts like an 8 yr old. she always gives my mom and i a hard time about everything. She only cares about herself and throws the biggest attitude when my mom asks her to do the littlest thing. She has ADHD and my mom feels bad so she hardly disciplines her. But when she gets really frustrated my mom will just blow up. And my sister mutters little things like "geez, dont have to get all mad." It pisses me off to no end. But im not sure if its because of her problem or if shes just a spoiled brat because of the fact she has a disorder. everyone treats her like shes helpless so i know thats what she later expects, is for everyone to bend backwords for her.
what do i do to make her be more grateful, respectful, and understanding?

People with ADHD do need some special attention but not the way it sounds with you. They need to be held accountable for what they do. If you sister really gets away with a lot, then she will act like that.

Who wouldn't? Sounds like she is "forced" to use ADHD as a crutch to do what she wants. You can't let her do that.

The other thing is to help her. You learn about ADHD and how to reduce your sisters symptoms. I discuss these things on my website.

Eliminate the foods that are irritants to her, examples are dairy, sugar, artificial ingredients, gluten, and so on, and make sure she gets a good liquid vitamin and mineral supplement for the nutrient deficiencies.

You should see a changed person. But, everyone has to be a part of this.

I included a link to the youtube page for you to listen to. I think you will learn some good things.

HI there
In a family it si hard if someone isnt 100% well and you feel sorry for them. What your parents could try is make some structures tho because we all need to know what limits there are in a house. Nothing severe tho!!Perhaps you could call a family meeting and all write down some ideas together. If your sister's behaviour is very uncontrolled maybe your mom could look into options available by talking to your local GP. Also at school-does she get any specific help and support?Your mom and you should also look into getting some respite help so that you could recharge your batteries away from teh problems and then feel so much more able to cope when you come back. You could aslo tlak to your school counsellor (confidentially) or school nurse about your home situation because you need support for getting through as well.Dont be embarrassed to ask for help for you .If you are helped, you will know how to handle the situation at home better.

Sounds like the things that might need to be done would not be by you, but by your Mom. She might need to do some reading about ADHD, or maybe talk to a school counsellor, if she actually thinks there is a problem. That could be a sensitive area. There are classes called S.T.E.P parenting that are offered by school systems and they can be very helpful for parents. Now, that your sister is getting close to becoming a teenager, it will be a little more difficult for your Mom, so anything she can do to find out what other parents are doing right now, might help. There are also online references to groups for ADHD people and parents, and they have lots of helpful references. That might be a good place to start.
