Question on adhd?

are there any benifits to having adhd. I know it is a weird question but i am doing a pre test prepration and that is one of the questions.

The only one i can think of is they have more energy.

There are many benefits to having adhd. For one thing, adhd patients have an incredible ability to memorize. Because of the proportions of grey and white matter in their brain, as compared to non-adhd people, they think in "fast forward." This allows for memorization. Many kids struggle in school because they tend to be "verbal" learners and most a-typical school instruction is done independently and quietly.

Multi-tasking is another. The sense of balance is another. Many adhd people are very musically inclined. They love stories because they try to "anticipate" an ending before events happen and are often surprised by outcomes of well-written stories. The key for reading problems is to find stories of interest to the individual. The key for younger children is memorization. If fundamentals are memorized, they can then learn to reason without a problem.

They also have an INCREDIBLE sense of emotion. They feed off of others. This can be quite "handy" if they are taught how to respond. The pitfall happens early when adults don't respond well to them and the child reads that and emotions turn very negative toward self.

Hope this helps.

This is a tricky question. Why? Because ADHD is a highly debated "diagnosis" in our world today.

Some will have you believe that ADHD is a gift and that people with ADHD possess "super-human" advantages such as creativity, hyperfocus, and deep passion.

On the other hand, many people believe that ADHD is NOT real and that ADHD is simply a disorder that has been created by the pharmaceutical companies.

To answer your question - it's all about balance!

People with ADHD have very unique abilities and talents. They have the potential to accomplish so much. Are there distinct advantages? It all depends on how you look at it - and what you think about it.

The real answer is to help someone with ADHD identify their natural strengths and talents - and to nurture and support the development of those strengths.

Someone with ADHD has just as much potential and capability as the next person.

i have adhd but im very smart. i guess you do have more energy but ure also kinda lazy b/c u r bored and distracted easily. also ppl w adhd sometimes notice small details or stuff b/c they rnt paying attention to other things. adhd people also are more creative and more interesting and are mostly good people. they are often bright and are special in some way.

They have more energy and are highly intelligent. My son has it and he is so frickin smart. He blows me away. They are also highly imaginative people. Hence, their brains are overactive. At 1 1/2 years old he knew all of the dinosaurs by name, what era and period they came from, and what they ate. I had nothing to do with it. In kindergarden they put him in a one legged stool. He didn't like the stool and they would not give him his chair back. So, he took it apart in like 3.5 seconds when the teacher wasn't looking.

There are benefits. People with ADHD are extremely gifted people.

I am exploring more of the areas of these gifts on my website. Feel free to check them out.

Also, check out Lara Honos Webb's book, the Gift of ADHD

almost all pro skateboarders, snowboarders, motocross riders, pritty much any extream sport athlete has adhd or add.. this probably isn't true but my philosophy is the worse ur add or adhd is the better u are at the sport you do lol

high intelligence usually accompanies ADHD.

The fact that people with ADHD don't like routine means they can be more adventurous and try more new things.
