Will the army check if ive been to a psychiatrist? i know they check your criminal background. I went for ADHD

i want to get a ranger infantry contract( does infantry have less stringent background check?)

i went to a psychiatrist when i was 17 and been getting adhd pills sense, im 21 now. Right before i turned 18 an experienced recruiter told me to lie and NEVER EVER admit to drug use, ever being to a hospital, or seeing a psychiatrist because i would be rejected. he said my record would be fresh at 18.

because ive seen the pill doc sense, does this mean my records a no go? if i get in will i be discharged or jailed?
im sure im not the first and this shouldn't stop me from enlisting but do they typically check your psychiatric records? are they not discloused?

ive also been to the doctor since for stiches.should i admit this. he was fairly confident that i never admit anyting even if its true.

what exactly can they see in your background

Okay, here's the deal. If you listen to your recruiter yes, you will most likely gain entrance into the military. However if you're looking to enlist as an 11B (Infantry) with a Ranger contract it may be a bit more risky. As a ranger you will undergo several psychological exams and it may come out in the wash that you have ADHD. Fortunately for you the Army needs people and if they find out that you have ADHD after you enlist they won't kick out out they may just restrict your ability to do certain things such as becoming a Ranger. Look we all have things wrong with us and the Army wants perfect people. So by not telling the Army that you have the disorder you are able to enlist, but by telling them you risk being rejected at MEPS. Based on my experiences I would take a chance and if you haven't spoke to a recruiter in the last two years I may be interested in giving you a ref feral to help you get in. If you decide to go that route, stop taking the pills now!
