I think I have ADD/ADHD, need help with PARENTS!!?

Well, I'm pretty convinced I have ADD, or something like it. I've looked up all the symptoms and I match quite a few of them, the biggest being I have such a hard time paying attention, I forget stuff easily, I'm easily bored, easily distracted, and procrastinate ALL THE TIME. I dont do too terrible in school, im not a straight A student, just about average

Anyways, my parents wont believe me.. I have the kind of parents that have the "you'll grow out of it" or the "I wouldn't worry" kind of answers for everything. I try to tell them I think i have ADD and they just shrug it off.. there not convinced just because I have decent grades and they both "hate" the medication they put you on, how do you think i can convince them to go get tested? ...being that they are my only ride to the doctors office, and theres no way im walking like 15 miles to get there :) any help would be appreciated, thanks!

also, are the meds really that bad? what are some of the side affects??

if you looked at everyone you would see that we all fall into some category of ADD or ADHD.

When you go back to school talk with your school counselor. Maybe he/she can help you talk with your parents.
