For Parents of Children Who Have ADHD, ODD, PTSD, and/or Bipolar Disorder? |
What are the best books you have found for children who have any of the following? I'm looking both for books to help the child understand the disorders and for parents to understand and know what to do. Child was physically and sexually abused for years while I tried to obtain a protective order. If you intend to be hurtful, keep it to yourself. We're already in enough desperate pain in our home. Here is a website that offers some of what you are looking for. Thanks, again! I'm actually doing research right now, and I'm using these sites. Report Abuse As a mother who is not a child beating HOLDEN whack job I can say that I believe that that ADHD crap is a bunch of crap. My youngest son was diagnosed with it by none other than his teachers who want kids drugged up so they don't have to deal with children who are bored in school and like to talk to other children and giggle..as a single mom I finally caved in and got him on the damn drugs to shut those asses up and after a year I got my guts back and took him off the drugs and reminded him he is in charge of his behavior not some drug and he's doing just fine....and I didn't have to beat him like the jerky boy wants to see happen God I pray that guy doesn't have kids. I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, as have all my children. My 7 year old grandchild recently had to spend a month in the "children's jail" for a month. She had gotten impossible to live with . her diagnosis was oppositional defiance disorder. She is much nicer to be around now that she takes medicine. What bugs me is we are given labels that doesn't always fit us. I am not fond of being called crazy. It pisses me off when somebody goes crazy and waves a gun or worse kill somebody. That gives all of us who are crazy a bad name. Hi Noah's mom, "10 days to a Less Defiant Child" Jeffery Bernstein one book i found very useful and informative was 'please do not label my child' |
