Help/ ADHD?

I think my sister has ADHD...We took her to the doctors several of times and they say that it is always just her age...She is 8 years old and she terrorizes everybody and anything ~~She Trashes everything after my mom will just finish cleaning~~when we politely tell her to stop romping around she will not stop~~When we go out in public and she doesnt get what she wants, she will throw herself on the floor and cry~~She gets very very very hyper and jumps on people and will wrestle with them, If they say stop she wont stop...My mom has tried to dicipline her by putting her in time out with no TV, taking stuff away from her and sometimes she will get a smack on the butt but no matter what My mom tries nothing seems to work to just make her settle down and be calm...Does anyone have any tips on what to do to make her settle down?

P.s help because my mom is literally going nuts and so am I....please help

have your mom read this. I am the mother of a boy that is ADHD. he is on no medication

3 years ago i had to make a decision. He was getting into trouble at school everyday. sometimes several times a day. I did months of research. I found that if i would do a diet change there have been studies that say it helps.

it is called the ADHD diet.

i took a lot of foods out of my sons diet...
no refined sugars, no colors or additives. All organic meats. no MSG.

pretty much everything had to be organic, and natural.

for 3 weeks we had the worst time of our lives. He was worse than ever. He doctor told me that he was going through with-drawls. About 3 months after we started this new diet we saw major changes. He could sit for 45 mins in a row. His grades improved. At home he did better too.

I also found that he does not do well in a regular public school setting. There are way to many distractions. He now does public school from home. through Connections Academy. He is so much happier and so is the rest of the family. Good luck to you and your family :)

Hi Blue Eye, if she ever goes to see a doctor again, make sure its a child psychiatrist, not just any doctor. This is because most docs know nuts about adhd and other behavioural problems. As for the second answers' suggestion to try adhd diet, I agree that many studies have confirmed its efficacy. If you want to give it a try, you can also look it up here:
