Cosmetic aids, dual standard?

Why is it that men are looked down on or made fun of for using cosmetic aids while women aren't?

For example, women using hair extension is ok, while man wearing a toupee isn't. Or dying gray hair is more accepted for women than men.

In addition, is using cosmetics dishonest in that your trying to fool people into thinking you're better looking than you really are? Kind of like when a used car dealer repaints a lemon to get higher resale value.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that. But I believe people look down on it because men are supposed to be so tough and down and dirty.

Well as a woman i personally think that if you get made fun of for doing things that you like to do then tell the people to screw off and try it sometime and i bet you 90% of the time you will get a positive reslut but the other 10% you WILL get smacked!!!! lolollolollololol
