Is Aids rife in South Africa's mines?

Is aids still killing mine workers or has there been an improvement.

It worsens by the day and the South African military is even worse.
My father worked for many years on the Rustenburg Platinum mines and witnessed it first hand, I often saw the effects of AIDS when I would visit him at work, very disturbing....
The fact that many miners work so far from their homes and live in hostels where homosexual acts are often practised as a substitute for available women only worsens the situation.

I know the mines do lots of work in terms of educating their works. Especially Anglo Platinum.
Some people do blame the mines for the spread of aids in the country because of the policy of not allowing the mine workers not to bring their wives to the hostels.

But the mining companies are investing lots of money into educations.
So I don't believe Bull 9 when he says its gettin worse.

It is undermining everything
