Should there be manditory testing for AIDS?

i think there should be...

whats the point.so people know they have h.i.v. thats the point. hell branded would be a good idea too.because there are those people who want to infect others.how bout be safe in the first place, keep it in your pants maybe (males and females)

I agree with you, there should be a national program to test. when you apply for driving license, when you get your passport, when you travel outside, and when you renew you tenancy contract. this is the only way we can destroy this epidemic. in some countries, it is becoming mandatory to test on regular basis.

Mandatory testing isn't going to change people's behavior. It isn't going to keep people from sharing needles or engaging unprotected sex. People are still going to engage in risky behaviors, which is how it is spread. Testing will not change that. People can always lie about the results. Are you also suggesting that people be branded once they test positive? Otherwise what would be the point of mandatory testing.

i dont understand why you think there should be... new borns and pregnant women are automatically tested, unless people have accidents ie. needlestick injury or blood to blood contact there is no need to be tested unless u indulge in unsafe practices... my partner and i were both tesed for hiv and std's before we began sharing a bed, but this is a personal choice.. if people want to play risky games with their lives then that is their choice...
seriously. how many times can you test a heroin addict that constantly shares syringes or a prostitute that constantly engages in unprotected sex?

I agree, but in most (if not all) states, laws prohibit mandatory testing except in a few isolated situations.
