Did the US government invent AIDS?

Rev Wright said that the government invented AIDS to kill black people.

Is that true?

Three of the earliest known instances of HIV infection are as follows:

A plasma sample taken in 1959 from an adult male living in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.9
HIV found in tissue samples from an American teenager who died in St. Louis in 1969.10
HIV found in tissue samples from a Norwegian sailor who died around 1976.

A 1998 analysis of the plasma sample from 1959 has suggested that HIV-1 was introduced into humans around the 1940s or the early 1950s; much earlier than previously thought. Other scientists have dated the sample to an even earlier period - perhaps as far back as the end of the 19th century.

Rev. Wright is wrong. More White Americans have died from AIDS than Black Americans. Although, more Black people have died worldwide than White people.

I can understand Rev Wright's position, the Tuskegee experiment with syphilis was unforgivable, cruel and criminal - and fears in the Black community that it's happening all over again aren't unreasonable. I just don't believe that it's the case when it comes to AIDS.

Research has shown that the earliest confirmed case on record was a white British sailor in the late 1950's who had been stationed off the coast of Africa.

If the disease started in Africa, it's only logical that more people there would have the disease. I wish the US would put more money into research on AIDS, but.....

It is thought to have originated in non-human primates in sub-Saharan Africa and transferred to humans during the 20th century. The epidemic officially began on 5 June 1981.

The most widely accepted theory is the so called 'Hunter' Theory, according to which transference from ape to human most likely occurred when a human was bitten by an ape or was cut while butchering one, and the human became infected. Researchers announced in May 2006 that HIV most likely originated in wild chimpanzees in the southeastern rain forests of Cameroon.

Though, in my own opinion, I think the medical industry is holding off on a cure, simply to make more weight loss shakes and Rogaine. *sigh*

And someone else would tell you it was to kill off gays. Use your common sence why would anyone consider such an uncontrolable way of killing off it's own citizens, If a government wanted to kill off a certian part of it's population it would use somthing that kill only the ones it wanted dead. AIDS has several problems,
1. it takes a very long time to kill someone.
2. it kills every one not just Blacks or Gays.
3. It is very hard to catch.
