Why do people say AIDS is a gay illness?

well.. I have heard being gay can make you cach this illness.. I am afraid of it.. I know condonm it's the best way to avoid.. but nothing is sure. and well. many people have told me it's gay disaese.. sorry for my bad spelling.. and bad english.. I am mexican

All the FACTS people listed below are all theory and HAVE NOT BEEN PROVEN. My brother has H.I.V. and is not a gay male. Although, we all know that all people can get the virus there are so many lies that have been spread about the virus and people are soooo uninformed to the truth about the virus. Yes, usually using a condom is the best way to avoid it. From what I've heard from older guys, the reason why more gays catch it is because with alot of gay guys crystal meth is more common, and it pressures people to make bad decisions like having unsafe sex.

What I do know is more males have anal sex, and HIV is way more easily spread through anal sex than vaginal sex. I'm not going to go into detail, but the bloodstream is easier accessed creating a path for HIV. So using a condom will prevent it most of the time, but also be careful and get tested! Also more LGBT use drugs than straights, it's sad. I did a powerpoint on the statistics and it's really awful to hear :(

AIDS is a disease that anyone in the world can get. The best thing to do is make sure you and your partner both get tested for HIV before you even think about doing anything sexual. As long as you are both clean and faithful, there's no reason to worry about it.

Being gay doesn't automatically mean you'll get AIDS. Just be careful, and use a condom every time, no matter what.

It is usually Men with men that get it. I am certain some women get it but primarily it seems to be men.

You can be gay and never have sex and you should be safe.
