When a person has aids how can they have a relationship and not give their partner aids?

its for my book and can u please give me some tips thank you

the book is about a 15 yr old girl who gets aids
im thinking to name it "walking on glass"

She obviously couldn't have sex with him. They could still be boyfriend-girlfriend, but the relationship couldn't be as physical because of the risk. She could have a cut on her finger or a bleeding lip and give him aids. She could accidentally use his razor and give him aids. Personally, I would think it would be a very difficult relationship. Not many people would stay with someone and risk getting an incurable, horrible disease such as that.

It has excellent potential, though. If the story was a romance, then the romance would have to be more profound. Instead of being based on appearance and physical, it would have to be based on the internal. It would take a lot of love and care for someone to stay with her, to endure all that pain, but that would make the story kind of beautiful. Good luck.
