Does a W grade hurt my eligibility for pell grant and other financial aid? |
I am getting the W grade due to attendance, which sounds bad but I had problems in these classes and I didn't want to just flunk them and have to take them over anyways. I have a 3.9 avg otherwise, but this is my first year and a failing grade would definetely bring my avg down below eligibility. Please help. Your Pell Grant should be just fine as long as: You meet the financial requirements. You're in "good standing" as a student. You have enough credit hours. You're making the expected amount of progress toward your degree. Nope, it's a W, not an F. Hell, I had plenty of F's and I still got almost a full ride to the Uni of my choice. I had a lot of back tracking to do, like 4 years to get my 2 year degree....a mistake i'll not forget soon, but now I'm in the University I wanted, for almost free, (I'll only owe around 20K when I'm done next year) working on my BFA. Your average is awesome...a W is just a Withdrawal, not a Fail. :) |
