I finished my financial aid application, now what? |
Do I need to print out a summary of my app and give a copy to the school I am going to attend? Should I take mine and my dad's tax forms with me? What do I do? Ahhh I'm so confused. Help! Please? ***********Based on the information we have on record for you, your EFC is 40. You may be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant and other federal student aid. Your school will use your EFC to determine your financial aid eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work study, and possible funding from your state and school. Your FAFSA has been selected for a review process called verification. Your school has the authority to request copies of certain financial documents from you and your parent(s).*********** Just take a copy of the requested forms up to the financial aid office. They will take them from you and make a copy. I would say mail them, but I have done that so many times and they claim they never get it. Don't stress - it is very common practice for them to do this.... Try fileing it They'll let you know within 48hours if you're denied. I know because I just got m y notification that I was denied. Now, just wait on the school. They'll let you know how much you're being awarded. Put it in the mail FAFSA will send over this information to your school choices.. they will review it and contact you for your information like your and your fathers taxes, etc.. I would call the school financial office once a week and see if they have completed it yet.. Don't worry, once you have submitted your application it automatically sends it to the schools of your choice. Once each individual school receives the application they will send you a letter stating how much money they are willing to give you to go to school. And even though your application was selected for verification if they want any documentation they will contact you. Just make sure you end up selecting the school that is right for you, but try not to base it all on the money you will be receiving. It might be a good idea that once you have selected your school and accepted their offer to check that school's financial aid website, log in, and view their offer. UCLA Student |
