Are kids today not worried about STD's and Aids??? |
I have read so many questions about possible pregnancy, not using protection, using protection and then not using it after all, etc. Are kids today not concerned with Aids and STD's? When you sleep with one person- you are exposing yourselves to anything they have picked up from a former partner- even if it was several partners ago. On top of that, babies are a lot of work- a lot of work. It seems like fun until there is colic, no sleep, etc. It seems an awful lot of risk for a one night stand or even a relationship that may not last. What are your opinions or ideas? i am 18, have gotten an std in the past and i agree, it is the it wont happen to me mentality. i am now very concious about using condoms, because the only thing worse than ignorance is consequences. Source(s): experience. I agree..I could voice more of an opinion but it's not really polite. I think that a lot of young people have the "It won't happen to me" mentality. However, most of the people I know who are sexually active use condoms, at least for the most part, especially if they're not in a monogamous relationship. When you are in a monogamous relationship, I think couples are less likely to use condoms, especially if the girl is on birth control. But it's a huge slap in the face when someone gets an STD, and I've known several people personally who have gone to get a regular pap smear and came home in tears. I think everyone needs to be a little more careful. yes teenagers and children don't give 2 hoots about the consequences cause they think that they can do the deed and then go abort and be in the same position again in the next 6 months wish they were told about all the diseases they can get try and scare them a little bit it disgust me that there parents are letting them get away with it they need to be taught now from year 6 about sex cause there are 12 year old's out there doing it if only they would understand give them a baby for a day or 2 then let them see how hard it is for them UNFORTUNATE TO SAY, WE NOW LIVE IN A SOCIETY WHERE CASUAL SEX IS ACCEPTABLE. PORNOGRAPHY IS THE NORM, JUST LOOK ON ANY MAGAZINE NOWADAYS, SOMEBODY'S NAKED IN SOME SHAPE, WAY, OR FORM. KIDS LEARN BY EXAMPLE. THEY SEE IT, THEY SEE SOCIETY'S REACTION, AND THEY THINK ITS OKAY. I HAD TO MOVE MY 5 YEAR OLD TO A NEW SCHOOL DISTRICT BECAUSE THERE WERE TWO 9 YEAR OLD BOYS "RUNNING TRAIN" ON A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL. IT HONESTLY BOGGLES THE MIND!!! WHERE DO THEY LEARN THIS KIND OF STUFF? I WANTED TO MOVE MY CHILD AS FAR AWAY FROM IT AS POSSIBLE. BUT COME TO REALIZE, THAT ITS PROBABLY EVERYWHERE. ITS JUST THAT IN THIS DAY AND AGE, PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE THIS LAIZZE FAIRE ATTITUDE ABOUT SEX, AND KIDS CATCH ON. I TRY TO PROTECT MY GIRLS AS MUCH AS I HUMANLY CAN AS A MOTHER, BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I'M NOT AROUND AND THEY NEED TO MAKE THEIR OWN GROWN UP DECISIONS? I JUST HOPE THAT I'VE INSTILLED IN THEM THE MORALS AND VALUES THAT MY PARENTS DID FOR ME.... it's not that we're not worried about that stuff but when you're in the moment and theres not a condom most ppl aren't goin to back down then and even if they do i'm pretty sure the guy's gonna be a little pissed and try to get them to do it anyway...But you have to be smart and stand strong. Are a few moments of pleasure (and it really may be only a FEW moments!) really worth all that may come from it?? |
