With the world's advancement in technology, does hiv aids have cure now ? what's the truth about hiv aids ? No there is no cure for the virus right now. But, research has come a long way and there are now different classes of meds to help those who are infected. 1. the first one stops the HIV cell from attaching itself to a healthy cell 2. the second one stops HIV production by stopping the process from RNA to DNA 3. the third stops the cells from fully turing into DNA so that it cant create new viruses 4. this med prevents the newly assembled DNA from leaving the cell It is in these fluids: 1. blood 2. breastmilk 3. sexual fluids 4. mucosal fluid (found in the knees) It is transfered through: 1. sexual intersourse 2. breast feeding 3. contaminated needles You cant get it by hugging, kissing (excpet if there is hard heavy making out and there are open sores, but the risk is very low), touching, sharing eating utencils or cups, and breathing the same air as someone who is positive. We wont see a cure in our lifetime most likely but maybe a vaccination (MAYBE). People with HIV dont die from the disease, they die from all the infections that they get because HIV breaks down your immune system. If you want more info get in touch with the Red Cross and they will give you all the information you need. Education is key! There is still no cure for the virus because if there was every one would be cured. But now there is medication to help prevent the infected person from dying. There is no definite cure for AIDS, but there are various types of treatment that help the immune system recover after it has been damaged by the disease. The available anti-retro viral drugs have come a long ways to making HIV a manageable, chronic disease, so it is no longer a death sentence. Few people with HIV progress to getting AIDS as long as they stay on these therapies. However ther is no cure, nor is it likely there will ever be a cure. Retro-virusus like the HIV virus are exceptionally difficult to kill off completely. Sorry; to this day, there's no cure and no vaccine for HIV. But there are many antiretroviral medications that can keep the amount of HIV in the body at low levels, decreasing dramatically the damage HIV may do to the immune system, and improving the quality of life of an infected person. HIV infection is nowadays considered a chronic, treatable condition {like diabetes or hypertension}. But the person must continue taking his/her medication for life; if treatment is discontinued, the virus starts reproducing quickly and on the long run destroys the body's immune system, making the patient an easy prey for a variety of opportunistic infections {e.g. Kaposi's Sarcoma; Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia; Cryptosporidium gastroenteritis; Candida albicans [yeast] infection of the mouth, vagina or other body parts; Tuberculosis; Toxoplasmosis; Bacterial endocarditis; among others}.
