Why does the UN send food and money aids to Africa?

I mean, Africa has vast lands of tropical rainforests, not just a desert like the sahara.

Why can't the Africans plant their own food?

because in places like Somalia the majority of them are to busy killing each other even then they would be to lazy to farm knowing that they could get free food off the rest of the world or steal other peoples food.

Africa has all ways been bad and will all ways stay bad sooner or later people are going to have to realize its a waste of money.

Why don't you just admit that you have a contemptuous attitude to black people, and be done with it? You obviously know nothing about Africa, and couldn't care less about the place anyway.
I think it is a valid question, especially considering many countries in Africa 30-40 years ago had sufficient food.

There are too many reasons to list them here. Much research has been done, comparing the former colonies in Southeast Asia with the former colonies in Africa.

In my view, there are a few main reasons why Africa is not able to feed itself:
... "mismanagement" of countries' economic infrastructure by despots and incompetent elites siphoning money off to numbered accounts in Switzerland
... high population growth leading to more mouths to be fed
... armed conflicts
In addition to African Farmer's comments, there is the whole issue about infrastructure and distribution. Some African countries hardly have roads so how are you going to get goods from one part of the country to another? An example is DRC which has plenty of fertile soil but it ends up being cheaper to import produce from South Africa and Angola than from East to Western DRC...there's only about 200km of paved road in the entire country. Sudan is another example where the infrastructure isn't there to distribute.

Add in conflict, poor governance, braindrain, and several other reasons, there is still a need for relief and developmental assistance in parts of Africa.
First and foremost i think you are less educated about Africa, second - you believe everything you see on western press. I don't disagree that some African countries do receive money and food Aid. By saying Africa you are generalizing, you should know that some African countries are doing very well to the extent of donating food themselves. Most African countries that do receive food aid are either in conflict or facing natural disasters like drought. Be specific and stop branding a whole continent negatively.
