MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour: All of Humanity (every individual!) has HIV/AIDS virus in their body, from birth!?

I'm just wondering what folks think about the News segment on the MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour several weeks back (don't remember the date), where some Medical Physics 'experts', casually noted that all human beings are born with the HIV/AIDS virus extant within our bodies, dormant and non-symptomatic, and that it just takes something of our own 'doing', or actions, or happenstance-in-our-Lives, to 'trigger' the inherent virus into 'action'! Doesn't that conflict with the 'theories' that the Medical 'Establishment' has always been giving us, that HIV/AIDS started, and came from, some monkeys-in-Africa? So is that 'theory-that-they-have-been-fe... now defunct? Any Medical 'experts' out there know for sure? Actually, such News sounds more reasonable, in that we have forever been told that any and everything is within, and can happen, to our bodies, and that it 'All Depends On Us', as to what happens to/with our bodies! So we all have HIV/AIDS! So what?

This should be phrased "everybody possess HIV (not AIDS, which is a Syndrome) in their body." The Gents above dont have a clue how to answer let alone have anything valid to contribute.

Everybody Tests Positive.

ALL undiluted blood specimens react positive on the ELISA test, a test that supposedly tests for antibodies to HIV.

Diluting the serum for the ELISA test.

To run this test, an individual's serum has to be diluted to a ratio of 1:400 with a special specimen diluent according to the test kit manufacturers, which is an extraordinarily high dilution of the person's serum, 400 times!

This suggests that every single human being has HIV antibodies, whether from birth or exposure to antigens believed to belong to HIV.

Remember its NOT a virus these test detect!

Why do we now say "HIV/AIDS" is this a habit now? Jesus -- they're two different things with two different definitions!

Furthermore, the Western Blot antibody test also needs serum to be diluted. Although it too has an usually high dilution, here the individual serum is only diluted at the ratio of 1:50........

A better question is "Why do these tests have to be diluted in the first place?"

This sounds like a particular very strange woman from Perth in Australia called Eleni Eleopolus-Papadopulos. For many years she has developed a theory that HIV is not an infectious particle.

Although she has tried to pass herself off as an expert, she has no scientific qualifications in medicine, virology or immunology, and has never done any original reearch or been involved in the care and treatment of people with HIV/AIDS.

Although her theories are crazy, she pops up in the media from time to time, and even tried to appear in court as an "expert witness" last year. The judge very sensibly tore strips off her.

No, we are not born with HIV/AIDS UNLESS the mother had it prior to conception and it was transmitted in utero or she contracted it during the pregnancy and it was transmitted to the fetus in utero.

If we were born with HIV, I would have tested positive a hundred times over. Here I am, age 37 and HIV NEGATIVE.
