Any non-pill forms of sleeping aids? |
Like a food or an activity that can make you drowsy quicker. 1) Avoid caffeine. 2) Psychotherapy. Source(s): Men's Health Magazine, Psychology Today Eat a handful of cherries every night before bed they contain a natural form of a sleep aid and its better for your health try it it works. Medical experts suggests that you get much exposure to sunlight as much as possible.Twenty to 30 minutes of bright sunlight in the morning helps you FALL asleep at night, and 20 to 30 minutes of light in the late afternoon or early evening helps you to stay asleep.I hope that helps... Find anything that relaxes you, whether that is food, a walk, warm milk, meditation, etc. The main reason I cannot sleep is tension, so I found a way to relax, now I sleep better. I would tell you my secret but, marijuana is illegal. SEX warm bath aromatherapy with lavender, ylang ylang, vanilla, etc warm milk or hot herbal tea, or hot chocolate reading the dictionary or something else that is really boring watching infomercials on TV or something else that is really boring blinking your eyes really fast over and over...I know it sounds crazy, but it wears your eyes out and you want to close them, and when your eyes are tired, you are tired all over. When I was a nanny and trying to get my kids to bed, I would tell them..."Close your eyes and think about dreaming." It seemed to work, kind of like very specific instructions for little minds on HOW to fall asleep. Take all the tisane drinks such as melissa, camomile teas, mint teas, lemon water. Or do relaxation , in yoga there is a relaxing treatment which you lay in your right side body , and right hand is the pillow of your head, straight body and legs, yet relax, and left hand on top of your left body ( oblique and hips )and closed eyes, try to imagining every part of your body started from the top of head and down to eyes, lips, throat, shoulder, upper chest, etc. As i experienced, this position helps me to fall sleep in my depressed time. So good luck. |
