Do you think that someone who died from AIDS deserves less respect than someone who died from cancer? |
Or do you respect someone who died from AIDS less than someone who died from cancer (or any other diease)? What disease someone dies from has absolutely NO impact on my respect for them. Why would it? For one thing, even if you think sex is immoral, people get AIDS from transfusion as well. So I am not going to be quick to judge someone. And for those who DO get AIDS from sex or sharing needles, what is the difference between them and someone who smokes themselves into lung cancer or eats themselves into a heart attack? Nothing. They took their risk, and they paid for it. It was their decision. For the rest of us, getting a disease is often genetic or arbitrary. There is no basis for judgement when it comes to diseases. All I care about is the person and their loved ones. Should not matter at all, you should respect the person irregardless of what they died from. He should be as respected as any other human being. No I do not. It doesn't matter if the death was due to aids or cancer, they both deserve respect!!! Death is a useless thing regardless of how someone died. The only difference i can see is that a person with AIDS could have prevented getting the disease but a person with cancer can not. update---Ok,i retract everything i said above after reading Emma J's answer--she is right.I am wrong about the AIDS person being able to prevent it. that's a dumb question. what if someone you loved died of AIDS and your neighbor died of cancer? what's there to respect anyway? they're dead! Mourn them! No matter how they died A disease is a disease and it doesn't much matter to me how the person got it. I would not respect someone less because they died of AIDS, that is just crazy. AIDS isn't just a homosexual disease and people need to realize that. |
