How does acupuncture benefit sinus problems?

How does acupuncture benefit sinus problems?

Acupuncture points are chosen based on your Chinese diagnosis. There is a special correlation between the nose and the Lung in Chinese medicine, so often times a sinus problem will be diagnosed as a Lung pattern such as Lung Qi Deficiency, or an External Pathogenic Factor attacking the Lung (in the case of a cold or flu).

The points used will deal with both the root of the problem as well as the symptoms. Points such as LI-20, ST 2, Bi Tong, and Yin Tang (local area points around the sinus') might be used to treat the symptoms, while LU 9, LU 5, and other distal points (located on the arms) will be used to treat the root.

In using local points to treat the symptom, blood and Qi (energy) will be brought to the area to help alleviate discomfort, pain, etc. The use of distal "root problem" points will correct the energetic imbalance that allowed the sinus problem to occur in the first place.

You may also be prescribed patent herbs such as Jade Windscreen, or directed to use a Neti-Pot to help with the symptoms as well.

i dont know but i heard its good

It releases sinus pressure and causes the blocked sinus to flow. I worked at a vet clinic and we used it on animals..cats would come in congested , pop a couple of needles in the points for the nose and they were cleaned out and breathing normally in about 15 mins.

By unblocking the relevant Meridian Channel, which is normally Large Intestine or Lung to relieve sinus problems and using specific points (little energy vortices's) they all have names and numbers like LI 4 or Bubbling brook and take the practitioner 3 years to learn.

It helps control how the mucus flows, and corrects it. I had some herbs that I had to take afterwords. It helped me quite a bit when western medicine couldn't. I'd also recommend a Neti pot. Those things help a lot but are terribly uncomfortable.
