Can acupuncture cure renal failure in human beings ?

Can acupuncture cure renal failure in human beings ?

To tell you the truth I don't know.My husband has polycystic kidney disease in both his kidneys and since he was diagnosed with it he has seen an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist.Over time his kidneys have reduced in sized quite a bit and some cysts have disappeared. The specialist that he sees at the hospital is amazed that my husband's kidneys have gotten smaller and that he has not gone into renal failure yet after all this time, but the specialist in the hospital will not say if he thinks that the acupuncture and the Chinese herbalist has any thing to do with it at all.

Acupuncture at best is a placebo.

Despite what some people BELIEVE, acupuncture does not cure anything. Certainly not anything as serious as renal failure.

I believe that acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) can cure anything. That being said, however, renal failure is EXTREMELY serious. I am not at all sure that there would be enough time for acupuncture or herbs to do their good work. This is to say the person in renal failure may well have waited too long to use this modality, and may need to be hospitalized and dialysed to save their life first, then to look at using acupuncture or Chinese herbs to try to regain their health and change their condition. Renal failure is not something to waste time with or to play around with. No sort of organ/systems failure is.

As a bit of an addendum for you, uh, disbelievers: 1) Acupuncture and Network Chiropractic BOTH have healed me of an asthma attack/case of adrenal depletion that normally would have hospitalized me for days, thank you very much. 2) Acupuncture also saved me from a potential hysterectomy/intractible hemorhage that almost killed me after a miscarriage thank you, when NOTHING else worked, including ergotrate. Acupuncture and my stubborn refusal to consent is what has me with an intact uterus and two children still. I've also been studying, not just dabbling in, natural healing since I was 17, so if you think I'm going to give way to any of you skeptical wankers who are all attitude and no brains, you can bloody well forget it. I've seen way more than you in 45 years of life, and I KNOW what I'm talking about, because it's based upon what I've seen and done, not an opinion you pulled out of yer **** or a medical textbook written by white males whose sole purpose is to keep themselves in business and looking good, even when they haven't had a breakthrough in true healing in years, thank you very much. True healing will NOT be found when the modalities are cutting, poisoning and irradiating, thanks again. And as the daughter of a "medical victim", ie Mom listened to her white male doctor and had a radical mastectomy when all she really needed was a lumpectomy at best...and mom is now minus her gall bladder and all her reproductive organs, thank you very much, when those "surgeries" (I call them mutilations.) were NOT necessary, I think you can figure out just what I think of the surgical profession. Enough said. Yes, when surgery IS necessary, there's nothing better perhaps. It's just that surgery is so often NOT indicated, and NOT the best solution. Apparently you idiots have never heard of the treatment being worse than the "cure". Apparently you idiots have never heard of the "treatment" being what actually kills the patient, NOT the disease. Do some damn research, then criticize my words. Let's talk about over 100,000 NEEDLESS hysterectomies alone last year, and that's just ONE type of "surgery". There are literally hundreds of different types of "surgeries"...Again, I call them mutilations. And yes there are some wonderful things surgeons can and do accomplish. I'm talking about a surgical or chemical "cure", that ISN't warranted, and isn't appropriate here. And there are 10's of thousands of these committed upon people every single year. Like I said, do some research. Talk to an OR or Med/Surg nurse for chrissakes.

No ..I would not chance something so serious

That is quite unlikely.
