Acupuncture & Polycystic Ovary Syndrome?

I have been diagnosed with PCOS about 3 weeks.

I have just been to see my consultant on Thursday & he said that if I lose weight & exercise then my periods should come a little more regular. I have been on a Low GI Diet since seeing him & exercise twice since.

My husband & me are try for a baby & he suggested that Acupuncture would help regulate my periods.

Has anyone had any experience with this?? If so was it a success with regulating your periods??

OMG I'm 12.5 stone lol

Weird, I am only 5foot2 but I am also on steriods for another condition called Addison Disease.

I put about 3-4 stone on about 3 years ago

xx

I've never had an experience with Acupuncture, however I do have PCOS.

I weighed 12.5 stones and I didn't have a period for years, I chose not to have any pills. I followed the doctors advice and lost over 4 stones, I now have regular periods, clear skin, less facial hair and I don't get grumpy as quickly!

It took me around 14 months to lose the 4 stones, women with PCOS do have trouble losing weight. We also have trouble conceiving naturally. I would suggest you eat healthily + exercise (feel free to email me or add details to your question if you want any advice on that).

Good luck.

Edit:
I'm 5'3"!
A lot of women do put on between 2-6 stones when the symptoms of PCOS first begin to show, even if it is getting more acne as a teenager. (Which is obviously common).
Personally I think I have had PCOS for a long time, it is difficult for doctors to diagnose though because the symptoms can be related to lots of other diseases/illnesses.
