Can acupuncture help upper back pain?

I have scoliosis and my upper back is always aching i have been having physio just wondering if anyone has had back pain or any pain and had acupuncture and it has helped then cheers

well, i cant speak from personal experience because i just dont do needles,but i have a close friend who has had serious knee pain and had acupuncture for it and says it really did help her. she also had it for menopausal symptoms (she was really suffering) and again it seemed to have a very positive effect. hope this helps. in your situation i think anything is worth a try. oh, just to say, she got maximum benefit from the knee treatment after the third session onwards so dont give up if the first time doesnt seem to help. good luck.

It works for some people. Depends on what the problem is. As you have scoliosis, acupuncture obviously isn't a cure, but it might give you some temporary relief. I have Fibromyalgia, and had two sessions of acupuncture, but found the needles placed in some areas too painful to do me any good. But my condition makes certain nerve points extra sensitive anyway. It might work for you.

If you find a reputable acupuncturist, yes. I have severe lower back pain and it helps me. The relief lasts for usually 10 days to 2 weeks. Good luck!

I was treated with it for lower back pain, it did absolutely nothing for me.

Every ones different but it certainly worked for me. I'd say try it.
