Can acupuncture lessen the pain of bulging discs (L5-S1)? If so, how long does one session relieve the pain? |
In general, what is the cost? Acupuncture has a high success rate with pain relief but it can be temporary and never in just one session. You would have to repeat the treatments every so often. Chiropractic adjustments with deep tissue massage may help as well. Adjustments can cost anywhere from 75 - 175 per visit in my area. Acupuncture costs about 75 per visit in my area with the recommended cycle being 10 treatments (although pain relief is often felt in less than 5) as the Chinese always do it in 10 sessions for maximum benefit. More and more insurance companies are willing to pay for these alternative treatments so check with your provider. I'm in Connecticut. Hope that helped. |
