Has any one used Acupuncture to induce labour and had success? |
I have noticed in some older questions people have mentioned that they were getting acupuncture to induce labour. I am wondering if anyone has had success with this method. Especially if anyone has had success getting it done before their due date ( only a by a few days.) I have heard accupuncture helps, but both times I used reflexology, it was amazing. YES and YES!! I was a little overdue and DID NOT want synthetic hormones pumped into my body (by induction) so I booked in for accupuncture induction on thewednesday, they pencilled in a second round for thursday but I went into labour on the wednesday night.. It was not painful-the accupuncture I mean- quite relaxing actually. I would suggest to book it in for your due date or perhaps the day before if your desperate! Get advice on someone who specialises in the "pregnancy feild" for best results.. Oh just to make sure I had spicey thai food for dinner, sex and a walk I think for good measure=)Good luck!!!! I went in after my Doctor wanted to induce me for High Blood Pressure, I was hoping not to have to have Pitocin again..(had to be induced with my first) I was only 36 weeks 1day! It made me dilate 2cm, so I went from 1 to 3cm in a session! I had a doctors appointment the next day so I never got to go back for a second session, b/c I was induced..OF COURSE!! hahaha LOL It really seems to work, when you in process you can actually feel the pressure and the advance of it..Hope this helps! I have used accupressure and within 12 hours I was in labor. |
