ACUPUNCTURE dose it work? |
Ive been having acupuncture on my lower back now for two months (once a week) but the pain is still there and nothing has changed, can it do more harm then good? Tell me about your experiance please. Acupuncture does work. I had arthritic pain in my hip and found relief from acupuncture after about 8 treatments. The pain never returned. However. It is important to know the reason for the pain. If you are not getting relief, I would suggest that you go to your primary care physician and ask him if he thinks an MRI is warranted. If your pain is being caused by a slipped disc, for instance, the acupuncture is not going to do any good. My other suggestion is to change your acupuncturist. They are not all the same and one may be able to help you more than another. I have found that a more effective type of acupuncture is Japanese acupuncture. The needles are thinner and the energy paths they use are different than Chinese acupuncture. Try typing in Japanese acupuncture practitioners in Google and see what you come up with. Good luck no matter what you do. sure does http://www.everydiet.org/rice_diet.htm... Some scientific studies have shown some effect of acupuncture. It seems to work as a pain relief. The traditional explainations of acupuncture, however, is a lot of nonsense. Its ability to ease pain is limited and its claims of success are mostly overblown or of an ancedotal nature. Be careful with it; while in and of itself it may do no harm, but it might prevent you from getting real care. It's not likely to cause any direct harm. Major problem is that some will avoid getting effective therapy while they're messing around with it - which can lead to the problem getting worse. If you've been going for two months, you SHOULD have figured out that IT'S NOT WORKING -- TRY SOMETHING ELSE! no not much Yes it does. I've used it to help eliminate insomnia as opposed to using prescription and over the counter medications. |
