Acupuncture, does it work?

Also, describe what it feels like. Thanks.

sure it works, but like everything- prescription medicine even--- it may not work on everyone for every condition... or for one person it may take 2-3 visits & the next person may take 9 or 10 visits to get better... it depends on how long your problem has been there & what you are dealing with.

I do acupuncture & I've had it done to me... some things I have been treated for haven't been as successful as others, other things have been like magic (things traditional medicine haven't been able to fix).
It usually doesn't feel like much of anything, but occasionally some points are "hot" in that the points you need most you feel most-- but even that is a momentary flash - a tiny zing & then it's gone... not like getting a shot or anything.
If done correctly, yes.

You barely feel it.

The trick is to get someone that is accredited and knows what they are doing. Like everything though, it's not 100%.
I personally haven't tried acupuncture, but do have friends and family that has, and they say if you go to a professional place, it's good and they feel really relieved.
Acupuncture is a very old Chinese medicine , and i believed that Chinese people are very intelligent and creative people, i was suffering from severe headaches all the time, nothing and no one was able to help me , i didn't hesitate trying acupuncture and thanks God now i can say i can live my normal life again.
For me, it hurt a LOT. The "doctor" (and I put it in quotation marks because one does not have to have a medical license to practice accupuncture) explained why, but I am very skeptical of acupuncture now, because it did not work at all for me. I went into it with a very open mind and very hopeful, because I have a migraine problem and she guaranteed me that she could fix it. She said she had never failed with anyone's migraines in the decades and decades of her practice, and my boyfriend used to have them really bad before going to her. So, I figured, "Hey, why not?" I was very disappointed. In fact, the very next day, I had the worst migraine I have ever had to date. But my boyfriend's family still swears by her, so maybe it's just me. I still have migraines on a weekly, almost daily, basis.
Acupuncture does work, and no it doesn't hurt at all!!! I can't explain why it works, but there are points all over the body that when stimulated with the needles can help with everything from a headache, to liver problems, to detoxifying your system from drugs, alcohol, and other toxins. There is no pain!!!
I have been going in to Hennepin County Medical Center for acupuncture for years!
