Has acupuncture worked for you?

I took a stress test at school the other day that asks all these questions and assigns a certain value for a yes answer. The point system is like this :
0 -125 : Low stress levels
125 - 249 : at risk if you have a preexisting condition
250 + : very likely to develop stress related health problems.
My score : 515.
When my instructor saw it she had a cow. She suggested acupuncture. Has AP worked for anyone? Its sorta expensive so I dont want to shell out the cash if its not gonna help.

I did acupuncture once for stress. It's not as bad as it sounds. It doesn't hurt. It kind of let's your body go limp and it relaxes you. It had a really calming feeling for me. It worked very well.
I use acupuncture all the time, and acupressure too (but that's more on the massage side of things). I have used it to de-stress, to sleep better, to stop headaches, and to stop my pain after i got hit by a car. I never took "traditional" medicines, just acupuncture the same night and the next day. I was up and walking around by the end of the second day, with just a little stiffness.
I didn't do it for stress, but a leg muscle injury.
I literally limped in, and walked out.
It included massage, acupuncture, plus additional acupuncture with electrodes, and that was it.
The first thing you should do if find a real acupuncturist; make sure it's not someone who just took some 3 month class. I go to the Chinese herbalist. To become a real herbalist, it takes 7 years of medical school in China plus apprenticeship for a number of years. They do everything from cadaver dissection, to mending bones, to herbal medicine, to acupuncture... let's just say they are very highly educated compared to western doctors -- well, educated in helping you get better rather than just fighting symptoms as western medicine does. Basically, physical injury such as broken bones, cuts, etc. is what western medicine is best at. For everything else, I see the Chinese herbalist. I believe I paid $30 Canadian which includes the herbal tea and consultation and perhaps a bit more for the massage and acupuncture. (which almost always tasted extremely rude, but it works so follow doctors orders). Also, take a vacation. At home, I'm always stressed deep inside. It's not on the surface, but like a distant thought, always there... thinking about money, the future, the past, career, what comes next, what to do, when to do it, ... but I took a year vacation in another country totally away from all that... no computer, no telephone, totally different culture... and my thinning hair grew right back in a year! I was so content and relaxed... I really had the best time of my life. I worked to sustain my holiday part time, but there was no stress at all, because they were not career jobs, everything was temporary in my mind and I could always go back home, no attachments. Now ten years later, my hair is thin again and worse than before. Time for another vacation... perhaps I'll take a ten year vacation this time.
Yes, it does. In my case, the results were so noticeable, that my wife is now getting it too.
