Has acupuncture shown to be effective when treating depression? |
Hi I am in my mid-20s and have been suffering from depression for over 6 years now. I have been on different types of anti-depressants but always seem to have these really 'low' periods from time to time. Just really want to get over it now for once and for all! yes it has been effective in treating depression...well done to u for taking an alternative route to antidepressants Source(s): am a nurse I've never heard anything along these lines. I have anxiety disorder and get depression on and off due to it, but I am ready to try anything to make it stop... If you receive any useful info, please let me know! awwww im sorry to hear this. i have suffered depression too for some yr and im only 22 :( its sad how ppl at such young age get caught up in these things. im not even depressed about naything, but its the low, derpressing mood that comes over me and i feel totally down and low self esteem. God knows where i get it frm but hey ho, alternative meds. i tried but dint wrk for me but i tried homeopath so i dunno if i could leave my tablets altho id loved too. i wish i could but whenever i try to slowly, my body can tell and i feel ill again. i cant go mor ethen 3 days without them. i jsut wish life was simpler. accupressure or accupuncture seems good but i never tried it. St Johns Wort is meant to be good as i have heard but dunno. u could ask ppl. i heard it makes u quite ill for 1st 2 wks but be prepared. after all the pain, ur time will come for being happy but i think t he 1st 2 wks are dreadful. i was meant to try last yr in the summer holidays but wernt so sure. it never happened coz i had weddings to go to like 3 in the hols so i dint have the confidence to get off em but hey, i wish u the best of luck muah x |
