Yes it does if you have a lot of stress I recomend on u doing it it does not hurt i get one each month
I have had several experiences with acupuncture. I popped a hamstring training for a competition and had only two weeks to recover. I immediately sought out an acupuncturist and after one session I was amazed at the results. suffice to say after a second session I was in pretty good shape. My mother used it to rehab from a stroke with no help with paralysis. It claims to treat almost everything, and is medically accepted in western medicine now, but like a chiropractor, it may work for some things for some people with some acupuncturists but it is no guarantee.
Although acupuncture is used to treat a wide range of conditions in China, one of the main strengths in acupuncture (in the eyes of Western medical MD's) is that of pain. There are studies and research that show the efficacy of acupuncture in treating and alleviating pain, so it would definitely be worth looking into. Whether if you want to speak to an M.D, or an acupunturist, or both about your condition, is of course, up to you.

~ My Experience ~

I was a natural skeptic of acupuncture. For lack of a better word, I believed that acupuncture was just pure superstitious, hocus pocus, quack medicine. I would have felt low and felt that it was beneath my dignity to have needles poking out of my body. But a severe, and let me reiterate, a severe ankle sprain changed all that.

I forced myself to visit an acupuncturist because the pain this time (I had previous sprains) was extremely unendurable (sleepless nights, uneven gait). After the acupuncture treatment, I went home, and slept for 4 hours. I got up to use the restroom, being careful that I didn't place all the weight on the left foot. As soon as I walked, I felt that the pain in my left foot was completely gone! Granted, there was a little pain, but the difference was so dramatic that I stood there completely SHOCKED. As the days passed by, the pain subsided, and healed much faster as opposed to when I stubbornly waited out the pain.

This of course is my experience with acupuncture, and so far, it has been a positive one.

Best
A resounding YES! I have relied on acupuncture over the last 4 years or so to treat minor (colds, flu) to chronic (arthritis, stress) conditions with great success. The most dramatic success I had was when I had laryngitis and completely lost my voice while traveling. I finally made it home to the doctor, barely able to speak in a whisper. She inserted a needle in my thumb, wiggled it around a bit and asked me to recite the alphabet. By the time I got mid-alphabet my voice was back!

With this said, ALL LICENSED ACUPUNCTURISTS ARE NOT EQUAL. Carefully research a doctor looking for one with 10 or more years of experience and significant interning experience--preferably with a Mandarin-speaking doctor (many of the most important Chinese Medicine books are written in Mandarin).
