Can acupuncture help cure chronic diarrhea?

I,ve tried everything else. Where and what Dr. would make that available?

No. Acupuncture "cures" nothing, as it is essentially a placebo. There is some sort of nerve response to needles stuck in the skin, but it has nothing to do with the chakra points, as needles randomly poked by those untrained in acupunture also seem to have the same effect.

When you say you've tried "everything", have you actually been to a doctor and had some tests, or do you mean you've just taken a lot of over the counter diarrhea treatments. There's lots of medical conditions that can cause chronic diarrhea. You shouldn't just be trying to treat it without know why you have it. Source(s): I'm an MD

If your chronic diarrhea is caused by an allergy, like for instance if you have become lactose intolerant it will just be a waste of money until you switch to lactaid milk,lactose free dairy products which are very good. or soy milk, which many people like ,but we don't. I am a nurse and recommended this to my husband for a long time before he tried it and his problem was solved. It is a very common problem. Also, I think it can be treated with goldenseal if you are into alternative medicine if it is not from lactose intolerance development. If it is stress related like the 2 weeks of it I had before my wedding I am sure acupucture or even a great massage would help temporarily until the stresser is elliminated. My friend's mother used to get diarrrhea until we returned from our evenings out as teenagers,it magically stopped whenever we walked in the door. When my husband drank and had a bad temper I got diarrhea. Please don't take the over the counter diarrhea pills habitually; go to a doctor because left untreated ,if you have an irritable bowel syndrome, it can be life threatening, some require changing your life habits/eating habits (Crohn's disease ) If you do have an IBS find a support group for it they are all over and you won't have to reinvent the wheel so to speak. They will know many things about living with this diagnosis that will make your life easier.... especially the fact that you are so totally not alone. sincerely yours:)
