Is acupuncture a viable treatment for acne? |
I have tried numerous over-the-counter products, prescription medicine, and facial treatments... none of which have actually yielded significant results. A friend suggested acupuncture as a solution. Can anyone testify to this? Acupuncture may be a viable treatment, depending on the cause of your acne. There's really no way to tell if it will help you, unless you try it. I assume you have seen a specialist rather than just a plain old doctor? Do you have acne or rosacea? Both produce zits and can look similar. There are a lot of factors that contribute to acne, some are hormonal which stress can contribute to, along with bacterial infection. If acupuncture reduces your stress level it could assist, however the most important methods of controlling acne are overall bodily health, i.e. exercise, eat healthy and clean your body.
