Results with Acupuncture?

I'm considering acupuncture for stomach problems such as acid reflux. Has anyone else done this and did it work? Or is it just quackery to get your money?

I had acupuncture about a year and a half ago for a carpal tunnel like problem with my arm. Nothing and I mean nothing I went through with doctors seemed to help, not even pain killers. My dr. suggested acup. and I drove about 250 miles to go to the acup. he suggested and I am here to tell you that I have not had a problem since! I highly recommend it to everyone I know! It took about 2-3 months for the complete effects to kick in and be completely pain free but now I have had no pain!!!! :) Definitely give it a try! Source(s): personal experience

Acupuncture can relieve many things because they stick the needles into pressure points and nerves which cuts off or reduces blood flow in certain areas and opens up blood flow in other areas. I am not sure though if acupuncture will relieve acid reflux. I know marijuana will relieve it, but it is illegal and I dont think you can get a prescription for it for acid reflux.
I don't know how bad your acid reflux is, but I have been treated for acid reflux before. They will generally treat your organs to help fix the problem. Acid reflux can result from excess chi in the liver, gal bladder or pancreas. I greatly enjoy acupuncture and recommend giving it a shot. If anything, it won't make things worse.
Acupuncture really works.
I went for severe neck pain to hopefully avoid a second neck surgery. It took a couple of months for the effects to completely kick in but it got me off of prescription pain medication and increased my ability to use my neck with no pain and without surgery.
It also helped with some digestive problems I was experiencing at the time.
It can work. Acupuncture alone can work and some acupuncturists also use chinese herbs to help stomach problems as well.
Also, your insurance may cover it as well.
