How useful is acupuncture in curing lower backpain?

Very!!!!

A friend of mine (Mike) was injured at work, and he went the standard medical approach. and he was put on percodans (SP) for the pain.

Hishealthcare ended, and some friends finally persuaded him to see an acupuncture therapist, and three treatments later; he had his life back!

It's OK but the results are only short term! Had a similar problem a few years back and Acupuncture was OK but really only lasted a couple of hours
I've had a bad back for over 20 years now. I had an operation on it 5 years ago, but that didnt work. BEing 6'4, they put it down to height and growing pain for too many years. I had accupuncture about a year ago, and it helped for about a week, then the pain came back. They reconed it would take 20 more sessions, costing me 拢300. I never went back, but might trry 2 more sessions to see if it helps. If so, I may go for the full treatment. Be warned if you go though, after your session there is a massive sales push on herbal tablets and more sessions. I was offered 2 different herbal tables to take, costing 拢20 each. I'd have ended up taking 40 tablets a day with them, and I dont take tablets anyway, so I left them. Good luck

I'd like feedback on whether it works as good for you as it does for me.
I have been doing yoga for 10 years, tai-chi for 6.
I had acupuncture in conjunction with chiropracty and it kept me mobile whilst waiting for surgery. It was good for me, but you need to be sure of the practitioner.
