Has anyone ever had acupuncture and been cured of IBS??? |
i have heard of people haing treatment for it but never known if it has cured it outright? I know someone who has had heyfever cured by it I've known people to have acupuncture, but not for IBS. the best way to get rid of IBS is to give up wheat. Try it and see ;-) No - but my mum had a bad back, and acupuncture worked for her mum In my experience, IBS=gluten intolernace and acupuncture isn't going to cure that. I'm sure in some cases acupuncture will help clear up IBS. Like everything else it is about finding something that works for you. It also depends on what has triggered the IBS. I experience this condition and in my case I'm pretty sure anxiety is the trigger. Food allergies could be another trigger - particular wheat or dairy, if you want to experiment in cutting out certain foods. I find that certain dietary inclusions/exclusions can be helpful, as can herbal teas such as fennel and peppermint and chamomile amongst a host of others. As in other answers best thing for IBS is control of your diet try an allergy test for wheat and gluten worked for my wife. A few of the other answerers mentioned wheat and gluten. I definitely agree. My IBS symptoms that I suffered with for 18 years ended up being gluten intolerance (celiac disease). Take a look at this information page on celiac by the National Institutes of Health for more information -- http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases... If that starts ringing any bells here are some message boards for people with celiac disease or other forms of gluten intolerance -- http://www.glutenfreeforum.com http://www.celiacforums.com Hope you feel better soon.
