Can i make money with acupuncture? |
Can i make money with acupuncture? You mean, certainly, that your certified to practise this type of medicine, and that you have insurance in case you are sued, right??? oh yes, if u do it to the president, governour, general of military, etc It was 1/2 of my cure from cigaretts ... It's good stuff. <the other 1/2 was hypnosis/meditation stuff> You have to be certified. But it is good ! There are a number of expenses involved in becoming an acupuncturist, before you even think about money coming in. First, you have to receive the proper training. Graduate programs are at least 3 years long, and most are longer. Financially, this is going to set you back. Second, you are going to need licensure for the state where you want to practice. Most states will require that you pass certification exams and maintain malpactice insurance. To keep your licensure, you will need to engage in continuing education. All of that cost money, too. Third, you are going to need to find a location. You might choose to work in someone else's office, in which case you might not have to buy supplies (that saves you some money), but you will most likely make less per treatment (that loses you some money). If you choose to set up your own office, you will have to buy treatment supplies, everything from needles and tables to general office supplies and equipment. That is a sizeable investment, even if you plan to start small. Yet another option is to buy someone's practice. You will be pay them for the business they developed, along with an established clientele. Again, more money going out of your pocket. Acupuncture is a valid medical therapy and it requires more commitment than just the financial kind. You will be dealing with people who are in pain or ill (sometimes terminally). Because acupuncture is still mystified to some, you must be willing and able to explain the basics of this therapy to all prospective clients, other medical professionals, insurance companies, etc. If you love what you do, all of this is fullfilling. If you are only looking easy money, then you will not like acupuncture as a career. If you are asking if you can earn a good living in this field, I would say 'yes' but it requires a lot of effort to get there. I hope that helped. |
