How do I find out if an acupuncture person is reputable and licensed? |
I was offered a free session from some one using craigs list as payment for a fish tank? There are two ways. You can look for him/her on the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine roster here: http://www.nccaom.org/find.htm Or you can go to the regulations and licensure department for your state (usually on the government web site). While not all states require licensure to practice, most do and each state should have a record of all licensed practitioners. Try the NCCAOM web site first, however, as they list all practitioners who have passed the national licensure exam, a requirement for most state licenses. It is too difficult - from what you have told Law change from place to place you have not mentioned ur place It is difficult as all don't register and there is not much monitoring Now as the session is over - what u lost is just a fish tank From next time be more careful and dont agree before you confirm I am a huge fan of acupuncture! Go to their office and ask to see their credentials. Hang out and talk to them. Ask them for some referrals, talk to some clients. Ask if they take medical insurance. Is the appointment book booked solid or are their a lot of openings. Little questions like this will give you the answers you are looking for. |
