Do you prefer eastern medical treatment for example acupuncture or western medical treatment by drugs? |
Eastern medical treatment are more towards preventative way compare to westerm medical treatment that treat the disease in late stage. I definitely prefer the eastern mentality towards healthcare: prevention and not treatment of the symptoms. I have not needed much healthcare, but have had acupuncture on several occasions, and it has definitely worked on me. Of course western medicine has also it's advantages and in emergency cases, medicines and invasive operation have saved many lives. I only wish more emphasis were given on a healthy lifestyle, less stress, better eating habits, more excercise, to prevent many diseases from starting in the first place. And I find it shameful of the Pharmaceutical Companies that they invent pills for every conceivable ill under the sun. This dependence on pills is just disastrous. Who knows what all these chemicals will do to our bodies in the long run. Whatever works. I prefer most anything that does not involve drugs.. I think that drugs are detrimental to anyone's health. True, it is probably necessary for excess pains, etc but Even when I am given a prescription for pain killers, I do not have them filled. Well, being an ex-addict of most street drugs....i'd have to say....if someone gives me pills and I don't feel paranoid on the drive home....well, you get the point! I like a combination. I dont like taking pills but sometimes they are needed. Plus eastern medicine means I get massages and I love an excuse to need a massage. LOL I think you should be open to both, I like to think there is value to any and all methods. The ancient chinese still have herbs and methods used today. We should embrace modern medicine as well as any alternative, holistic systems that will help us be healthier, happier human beings. depends on the ailment, allopathy is easier to administer, gives relief faster, and in certain cases,surgery is the only option, you can't rely on acupuncture, though it's also a good science, you can't take the risk , while dealing with heart problems for example. ayurvedic treatment is supposed to be good for diabetes, orthopaedic problems, blood-pressure etc., you can coordinate both sometimes. |
