Is it normal to vomit after acupuncture? |
I had acupuncture for weight loss, and about 30 mins after felt nauseous, and vomited a lot about 1h later. Is this normal, dextoifying or worrying? It is possible to vomit or feel nauseous after a holistic treatment. This is referred to as a 'healing crisis'. Your therapist should have made you aware of this after finishing your treatment. Other symptoms include : tirednsess dizziness disturbed sleep pattern/ vivid dreams shakiness headaches hunger/ thirst frequent bowel movements/ urination These symptoms are all temporary and will dissappear after 24 hours so do not be alarmed. It is the body's way of getting rid of toxins and healing itself. Don't let this put you off going back for more treatments. If you have any worries regarding treatments or your health then contact your therapist. Its probably detox-but consult the practitioner to confirm it. Mild flu like symptoms are often experienced by many people too-which proves its working. Well it could be they hit a nerve that caused you to do this. Upset the nerves. Usually accpuncture helps with nausea. I would call and let them know and ask if this seems normal. It could of just been something you ate or something you caught. |
