Tree & Grass Allergies?

Looking for some helpful ideas on ways to deal with allergic responses to trees and grasses. Responses are nasal, respiratory, and dermal. However the most annoying are the nasal and respiratory. (Immediate nasal stuffiness, swelling, increased mucosal production, migraines, increasing asthmatic episodes) I would love any NON WESTERNIZED PHARMACOLOGIC ideas - AKA- I would love the natural CURE/PREVENTATIVE.

Thanks

BTW - I have been avoiding as many triggers as possible but I can not avoid the trees nor the grasses

Unfortunately I can't think of any good non traditional methods. Honey, accupuncture, and kinesiology have not been demonstrated to help in studies looking at this.

There are some Chinese herb combinations that have been demonstrated to help a little bit. Turns out that they have some anti-histamine properties like benadryl, claritin, zyrtec. I think it'd be cheaper/easier to just take a pill instead of a bunc of herbs - but it's worth a try if you don't want to take a pill a day.

the only thing i can thing of is claratyne(sp?)

i used to take a homeopathic med, all natural by bioallers for tree and grass allergies. excellent stuff, works right away.

look them up online, bioallers.com

good luck to you

To relieve the congestion and blocked nose etc we inhale peppermint oil steam or eucalyptus (peppermint is a lot quicker) I've found that helpful to cut a headache off if it's caught early on too. I buy a herbal sinus tablet but we're all out at the moment so I can't give you a name or ingredients. My daughter has severe sinus headaches brought on largely by allergy to pollen and grass.

Immunotherapy will do wonders for tree and grass allergies. The shots are a tiny fraction of the allergin and they slowly build up the dosage over several years. Eventually the dosage is as strong as what you encounter naturally and you are no longer allergic to those things. I had a series of shots lasting nine years and they really have helped a lot.
