Preventing allergies?

I would be grateful for any advice to limite allergies in the house. My new partner is allergic (mildly) to animals and some other things. I have bought an anti allergic pillow and special pillow covers. I vaccum regularly. Is there anything else I can do to help prevent his allergies (he takes mild medication)?
