Dog allergies...serious question, need answer asap? |
I was told by my parents, that my dog stuffed her face into a pile of plants and stuff, I guess stuff that she's allergic to and since 7am today she's been sneezing and shaking and wouldn't eat food until just now. I just came home and she's sitting in the corner of the room laying down but she makes these noises like she's trying to sneeze or get stuff out of her nose. I'm sure its just allergies, but what can we do to fix it? Need answer asap. well my mom just left the house for an appointment so she wont be home until 12. so there's nothing i can do with that. But is it possible that she's shaking because she's scared? when she sits, she doesn't shake or anything but when she walks up to me and lets me rub her, she starts to shake. If you can't get to a vet, at least call. This could be very serious. My dog had an allergic reaction and ended up being kept for a few days because she was having seizures and could've died. Keep an eye on her, make sure she doesn't get worse. But call the vet and tell them there's no way you can get there, but you want to help her out at home. This time of year when buds etc are on all the plants, she could have gotten a particle up her nose. Take your dog to the vet so they can get a better look and seee what the real problem is. You cannot know for sure it is just allergies. Only a vet can tell you that. If she has been sneezing since 7a.m., it is more than allergies. Get her to your vet. BENADRYL! works miracles, my dog is allergic to bee stings, he's been stung a couple of times, his head swells up and looks like a shovel. I give him a benadryl and hes good again, if that doesnt work, get him to a vet asap If your sure it's allergies and feel comfortable with that then give her a benadryl. Use it weight appropriately. If its a small dog 1/4 of a tab, large breed full tab. med dog 1/2 etc. Most vets will tell you the same thing. If your uncertain then by all means get her to the vet or at least call them. Good luck. Call or take her to the vet. They will be able to tell you what to do. She may need a shot of steroids because her nose may be swelling. My dog has confirmed allergies and has had this happen before. How can you be sure it's "just allergies"? Are you a Vet? you can give it BENADRYL if you are sure that it is allergies...I give it to mine all the time and that's what the vet told me to do...(my vet is a friend of ours).... I would take her to the vet some plants could harm your dog. It could be serious. At least call a vet and ask them on the phone and they can give you their opinion. sounds like the pollen from the plant just bothered her nose. I would take her to the vet. Some plants are known to be toxic to dogs and can cause severe problems or even death. All that you could do at this point is wait for your mom to take him/her to the vet. Take her to the vet. Don't mess around something could be seriously wrong or it can be minor. The vet should know!! Take her to the vet (or at least call them for advice). call your vet YOU NEED TO TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE VET RIGHT AWAY |
