Allergies or just a cold? |
I'm feeling really under the weather. Woke up Saturday with a horribly irritated throat, slight nasal congestion, and tons of sneezing. I also noticed the same day that the trees in the park outside my window had just started blooming and I've had some serious joint pain as well. I'm not running a fever and I'm not that congested, but my throat and ears are king of itchy today. I was just wondering if this is more typical of a cold or allergies..I've never noticed myself having any type of allergies before but it also doesn't really seem like a cold! its probably just a cold. I would say allergies because i have the same thing and its been getting worse and i always get it around this time of the year. I started out with the same symptoms you described but now ive been coughing and im very congested and have very little voice. i hope the pollen goes away soon so we can feel like normal people again. Allergies Try a hot Loaf of Bread.... maybe it is a coincidence that all the pains came at the same time.An irritated throat, tons of sneezing and nasal congestion would have been due to cold weather. You would have not slept in a correct posture, therefore you could have had a joint pain.Usually if you get a cold it might affect the ears ,therefore your ears might have been itchy. From what you describe, it could be allergies. It doesn't matter how old you are, allergies can develop at anytime. I didn't develop my allergies until I was in my 30s. My primary care physician referred me to an ENT specialist. I went through extensive allergy testing. Over 200 antigens were injected under the surface of my skin. In a nutshell, I had allergies to molds, mites, trees, grasses, and pollens. I had to go on immunotherapy for a couple of years. |
