What is the best way for someone with dust allergies to dust off cardboard boxes, file folders, paper items?

Well, even though it can look silly, I wear those little white masks that goes over the nose and mouth, you can get them at homedepot for about a dollar each. They really work, if I dust without them, I go into a sneezing/blowing my nose fit for about an hour. Also, sometimes I will take items into my backyard, so that the dust stays outside. If the cardboard or the file folders are thick I use a rag and spritz it lightly with water to grab some of the dust, but not soaked that its going to ruin the paper....Good Luck!
Wear a mask and use a disposable dust "cloth"-
ask someone else to do it for you
with a microfiber cloth- the dust will cling to it and not fly around. also a mask wouldn't be a bad idea.
FIRE
Hire a little Mexican to do it for you for a quarter a day.
i have to say, i like shannon answer... ask someone else to do it! really, thats the best way.

but not all of us a fortunate enoug for even simple privilages like that at times. :)

careful with the mask, cause if you're allergic to dust, dust on your skin will cause rashes. so, you might save yourself from the bout of sneezing, but end up scrathing all day.

i'd say, use a vacuum cleaner. this would help suck up the dust instead of letting it fly everywhere.

good luck
